Jane & Dan Barber raised Parnell
from 8 weeks old to 12 months! |
Parnell, a half-Labrador
retriever and half-Golden retriever, was born in California,
raised in Chicago, CCI trained in Delaware, Ohio & now lives with
Chad in Orrville, Ohio.
The cost of raising and
training Parnell is estimated to be between $10,000 to $14,000.
These funds are provided to CCI through private donations.

Parnell understands and can
act on 42 separate commands from "light" which commands him to
turn a light on or off to "hurry" which means he is directed to
toilet.

Since Parnell arrived in our
life we have seen significant growth in Chad. Chad's
attention span is increasing, his verbal skills are improving and
he walks further than ever before. But mostly, we have seen
a wonderful bonding relationship develop between the two.

Every night Parnell places
his paws on Chad's bed to help him with his prayers and then jumps
into bed. Chad now sleeps through the night.

Chad's behavior has always
been good but with Parnell at his side he's even better. Parnell
recently went to the dentist with Chad. With Parnell at his
side, Chad did everything the dentist asked of him!

Now in public, more people
come up to Chad and Parnell and
greet them both. |

Chad
is learning to help take responsibility for taking care of
Parnell.
Chad helps his mother:
- brush Parnell's teeth & coat
- exercise Parnell after school
- feed Parnell each night
- toilet Parnell before bedtime
